Surrealism Unleashed in Potluck exhibition at gallery Phantasmal

The surrealist “Potluck” exhibition at 44ad ArtSpace in Bath Spa recently concluded, after being on view from April 9th to April 14th, 2024. This showcase delved into the mysterious realms of the subconscious, inviting viewers to explore the uncanny and unconscious through a variety of mediums.

Behind the scenes, curators Daisy-Drew Smith, Milly Aburrow, and Lilly Foster-Eardley, all connected to Bath Spa University, meticulously curated the exhibition, ensuring each artwork found its perfect place. Stepping into the ground floor exhibition space, attendees were immediately immersed in a world of mystery and intrigue.

The exhibition offered a diverse array of art, ranging from paintings to sculptures, digital creations, and mixed media, demonstrating the creativity and innovation of the exhibiting artists. Each piece offered a glimpse into alternate realities and hidden truths, sparking conversations.

Potluck showcased the power of art to transcend boundaries and unite people from all walks of life. By celebrating the strange, beautiful, and unconventional, the exhibition provided a platform for artists to freely express themselves and for audiences to experience the extraordinary.

“The shows purpose is not only to highlight the fellow artists involved (and their work in relation to the theme) , but also to highlight their personal experience within arts industry and opportunities to get involved in as emerging artists.”.
